An Introduction
Mission Statement

To work in partnership with each Parish to strengthen Guernsey's plant infrastructure, to promote the correct kind of planting. To also give environmental, social and economic benefits to the Island.
To educate Adults and Children at a basic level about the value of plants. Over the next 10 years as land becomes available we will be inviting the school's gardening clubs to plant trees which will be provided free of charge from ourselves with the money raised from the workshops and donations.
Green Legacy Guernsey uses the OPALS(TM) scale to determine which plants to supply free for planting in places accessible to visitors to the Island and the public of Guernsey. This is significant to Green Legacy's tree selection process. It is essential to ensure unnecessary adverse pollen related health problems are not experienced by visitors to public places in the Island, and that Guernsey's resident population that may be living in close proximity to new plantings should not be affected.

To
date, hundreds of adults and children have been taught how to sow seeds
and to pot plants. Workshops at the Plant Centre also help children to
connect with their natural surroundings through their five senses. It is
possible to tailor workshops to cater for all curriculum needs,

I would like to think that Kuan's words are symbolic of Queux' mission over the past 21 years and they have, thanks to his foresight, formed Green Legacy's Mission Statement. We are certain that educating this generation, will make a difference in 100 years time.
